Seasons of Life traces the extraordinary life and thoughts of an ordinary soldier. It is an interesting anthology of experiences of the author interwoven with essays on vital facets of life, his reflections and narratives of his sports activities which have been a vital part of his life.

The journey through his early years on to his growth to a two-star general and his literary pursuits has been interestingly traced through various stages of his professional career spanning nearly four decades and thereafter to his retired life. A rare mix of achievements, be these in the fields of profession, intellectual pursuits, sports or adventure have been interwoven beautifully to make this anthology an inspirational reading.

The book leads us to an interesting journey, dealing with myriad views on matters of life. About The Author

Maj Gen Purshotam Vig, AVSM, VSM (Retd) was born in 1944 in the picturesque township of Baramulla of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned in the then Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of the Indian Army in 1964.  A qualified engineer, he acquired high-end qualifications both in the technical and executive channels including Masters in three varied disciplines. He held key appointments on the general staff and within his Corps including in the operationally active scenario in the Northern command as a Major General.

He is a rare combination of an intellectual mind, a keen observer and an ardent adventurist. His observations about various facets of life are thought provoking. A dynamic leader, he led his men from the front. His achievements in varied fields are a rare mix and a source of inspiration.
